From Downtown Boston

Take Storrow Drive east to Rte 28/McGrath O’Brien Hwy North. Stay right under the Lechmere Green Line tracks. Take the Union Square exit at Chambers Auto. Take a left under the underpass onto Washington Street and go straight into Union Square. Keep to the right; at the second set of lights bear right onto Bow St., Bear left up ahead at the fork to continue on Somerville Ave. Just after the first light after Market Basket on your left is 440 Somerville Ave/b|e. in Union Yoga.

From the NORTH

Take Route 93 South Exit to 28 marked “Sullivan Square.” Take the ramp to the end, following the signs to Sullivan Square. At Sullivan Square, take a right at the lights onto Washington Street, past the Sullivan Square T station on your right. Continue on Washington Street through four sets of lights, past the Holiday Inn and the Cobble Hill Center on your left and the O’Brien Highway overpass. Union Square is directly ahead on the other side of the overpass. Keep to the right; at the second set of lights bear right onto Bow St., bear left up ahead at the fork to continue on Somerville Ave. Just after the first light after Market Basket on your left is 440 Somerville Ave/b|e. in Union Yoga.

From the SOUTH

Take Route 93 North to the Central Artery in Downtown Boston and take Exit 28 marked “Rt.99/Sullivan Square/Somerville.” At the bottom of the ramp, take a left. Go under the highway overpass, past the Holiday Inn, and keep going straight. Union Square is directly ahead. Keep to the right; at the second set of lights bear right onto Bow St., bear left up ahead at the fork to continue on Somerville Ave. Just after the first light after Market Basket on your left is 440 Somerville Ave/b|e. in Union Yoga.

From the WEST

Take the Mass Turnpike/Route 90 to Exit 18 marked “Allston/Cambridge.” After the toll booth, bear right following the signs to Cambridge/Somerville. At the lights continue straight over the bridge onto River Street. Follow River Street all the way into Central Square. In Central Square at the lights continue straight across Massachusetts Avenue onto Prospect Street. Follow Prospect Street all the way to the railroad bridge and continue straight into Union Square. Take a left onto Somerville Ave. Up ahead at the set of lights, bear right onto Bow St., bear left up ahead at the fork to continue on Somerville Ave. Just after the first light after Market Basket on your left is 440 Somerville Ave/b|e. in Union Yoga.

OR

Take Route 2 East to the end into Cambridge. At the lights, turn left onto Alewife Brook Parkway. Follow to the lights and turn right onto Massachusetts Avenue. Continue on Massachusetts Ave. to Porter Square (you’ll see the big red mobile of the Porter Square T) and take a left at the lights onto Somerville Avenue. Before Market Basket, Right after the Maaco, 440 Somerville Ave is on your rightb|e. in Union Yoga is on your right..

Parking

Public Parking is available in a three nearby lots: on Washington Street behind Ricky’s Flower Market, at the corner of Prospect and Somerville Avenue and beside the Old Firehouse/SCAT in the center of Union Square. There is metered parking along Bow St. and metered and non-metered parking on Somerville Ave. and in the first blocks of Walnut St. Warren Ave., and Stone Ave. Ample Somerville residential permit parking is available on all of the surrounding streets.

Yoga Offers FFs Fitness, Stress Relief

Firefighter Blanca Alcaraz says it is her mission to teach yoga to first responders.

Although yoga has not traditionally been found in the firehouse, Blanca Alcaraz, a career firefighter with the Somerville, Mass. Fire Department, is doing everything she can to let her brothers and sisters know that yoga is kick-butt exercise that can have even the most buff firefighters working up a sweat in minutes.

    I a new resident in town and I’d like to know how to sign up for the ‘New Student’ pass. I’ve been a member back home in Australia, but I’d like to work myself into in.

      If you haven’t already all you have to do is swing by the studio. You could also purchase the week unlimited on line on our rates page. Just give yourself 10 or 15 minutes before class to sign in and fill out the standard waiver. See you soon!
